Looking For: Danny Dale Bexfield SS [furnished upon request by proper authorities] - DOB 11/17/65 Petrina Irene Kilborn-Bexfield SS [furnished upon request by proper authorities] - DOB 4/18/66 Latest photos available attached. Marge was born 2/14/01 at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Florida with oxygen starvation and barely alive. At the time of Marge’s birth, Petrina claimed to not know she was pregnant, which caused a lot of delay in the diagnosis of severe back pains when arriving at the hospital early AM 2/14/01. There had been no pre-natal care at all. When they realized she was in labor and decided to do a cesarean the baby apparently had been in trouble for some unknown period of time. She was transferred to Florida Hospital in Orlando, later to the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital where she was taken care of and finally brought to the point she could breath on her own. They said there was probably brain damage but no way to tell for some time. As the development progressed there was obvious signs of severely inhibited development. At almost one year old she was unable to hold her head up or even sit up on her own for longer than a few seconds. She was enrolled in the Head Start and Early Intervention programs. I last saw them 1/9/02 when they announced they were leaving for Greenville, SC the next day for Petrina to take a new job. Supposedly to come back in two weeks to pick up more stuff. They only took what they could put in a small car. A follow up in Greenville at Northrop-Grumman where she was supposed to have the job produced nothing. They did not have her on record for ever being a job applicant or anything. It was obvious they were in a panic move of some sort. They had even started inviting people to Marge’s first birthday party only a month away. They definitely appeared scared of something. When they did not return in two weeks and had not been heard from I then went to the house they had rented at 2064 Nottingham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935 and found one key in the door, the other in the mailbox, and the house in deplorable condition with no utilities on at all, seemingly being without for quite some time. Cat litter boxes had not been cleaned in months with cat feces on the walls! The stench was overpowering. Meat in the inoperative freezer was covered by maggots and there was hardly a floor space in the house that wasn’t covered with trash. I found many things in the house that indicated a panic move, including leaving some favorite clothes, books, and appliances. The house was completely uninhabitable! They were always overspending and having a lack of money. They had been evicted from an apartment in Melbourne about a year and a half before. That apartment was at 2380 Woodland Trail, #213, Melbourne, FL 32935. Danny was rumored to have lost several jobs due to petty theft (convenience and food stores). I talked to his last manager at a Winn-Dixie store in Melbourne where he was let go shortly before leaving and I was told that he had been let go for theft. All theft was minor and nothing has ever been filed with police as far as I know. The manager also told me that there had been rumors that DCF was investigating the living conditions and was coming after them. This manager is Debbie Bright at the Winn-Dixie Store at 6300 N. Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32940. On one of my visits to the house I encountered Brian Freel of the Florida DCF (Orlando Office) looking into the situation. He insisted there was nothing real bad going on, just a routine investigation. He did come in the house with me and didn’t seem terrible upset, which I thought rather strange due to the condition they were living in. I called him in a week or so (407-251-2452) and he again assured me there was nothing to be worried about. He appeared to be hiding something! The irony of this is that Petrina left a good job as secretary for the DCF in Rockledge, Florida. She told them she had to visit a sick aunt in Greenville and would be back soon. Her supervisor was Ilene reachable at 321-690-3820 or 321-690-3785. Neither has any relatives in Greenville! Danny was unemployed and taking care of Marge full time. There was no evidence of neglect till I visited the house and saw the condition. Marge had an unusual attachment for her father crying wildly when anyone other than her father or mother would try to hold her. This had developed after about 6 months or so of age. I did find out that Marge had been registered with Baby Net, the SC State agency that would handle her type of problems, in Greenville sometime in February 2002. They would and could not reveal much on the phone but one time a supervisor did tell me that they were “no longer under her care”, emphasizing that she was telling me all she was allowed to tell but knew more! This person was Joyce Freeman at 864-331-1450. There was a report of Danny being spotted in Burlington, NC about September,. 2003 by a friend of his brother. Nothing else is known about that. This information came from Danny’s father (below). I have had contact with a PI friend who ran the SS numbers and there is no record whatsoever of the numbers being used since their leaving. No track of any kind could be found. A complete skip trace was run with no results at all after Melbourne. I did have some contact with the Melbourne Police Department about a year after they left and they said nothing could be done as there was no direct evidence of criminal activity, they are of legal age and have legal custody of Marge. My contact was with an officer named Jeanette at 321-409-2200. When Jeanette called me to report that they could do nothing she was holding something back. She even said something like “They are OK but I can’t tell you any more.” I even called the FBI field office in Melbourne and was told that nothing could be done in a case like this. They are adults, have legal custody of the child and have a right to go wherever they want and not contact anyone. Don’t grandparents have some rights too? Danny’s father, Edward Bexfield, lives in Fellsmere, Florida (just a little south of Melbourne) and can be reached at his cell phone 321-750-3401. He helped them buy a decent car and he was sole owner, responsible for the payments and insurance since they had bad credit. This was 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier 4 door sedan, green, VIN 1G1JC5248X72550. There has been no sign of the car since they left, supposedly driving it to Greenville. Mr. Bexfield is still making the payments and keeping up the insurance. He has kept the license renewed even getting a new tag last year. He has stated that he was told by the police that he cannot file a complaint that it was stolen as he did give them permission to take it with, of course, a promise to keep making the payments to him and coming back for visits. Some information found on the bulletin board of the abandoned house was: Respite – Susan Suomi – 321-722-5350 – no idea who this is. Hopefully something can be done to aid me in finding these folks. I have no idea whether my daughter or granddaughter is even alive or not and how they may be doing. My granddaughter was seriously ill at the time they left. It would be nice to have some information. I am very concerned for her safety! I must also say that there was no animosity between any of us at the time they left. No reason not to make contact. Petrina used to keep me (and her mother) informed of all progress with Marge and kept in contact at least once or twice a week. Petrina’s mother is Ann Kilborn, living in Melbourne. Phone: 321-674-0358. We are divorced but on good terms. She also has had no contact with our daughter and neither have any close friends. The friends seem to be sincere about this and have asked repeatedly if we have heard from her. It is very unlike Petrina to not make contact on holidays, birthdays, etc. She was always very big on these events and always anxious to spend them with family and friends. I have been told by both the police and the FBI that nothing could be done even though it was obvious the police were holding something back along with Brian Feel of the Florida DCF. There was no evidence of a crime therefore nothing would or could be done. No crime? Raising a very sick child in filth then disappearing without a trace when it was obvious at last seeing them something serious was wrong! Helpful hint: They are NASCAR fans and big SciFi fans. They will usually always be at an opening of a big SciFi movie. Something CAN be done if only someone in a law enforcement position would take an interest in this. You hear about adult disappearances in the news every day and things are being done. Why not now……………….. Addition Mid-2006… An anonymous message was received from the web site that they were still in Greenville and Marge was in a wheelchair going to public school with MS and severe brain damage. Addition Mid-2008… In the last couple years I have received several calls looking for Petrina and they were traced to collection agencies that specialize in government loans. Sounds like the government is trying to collect on old student loans. I have told them that to the best of my knowledge she is still in Greenville and one of them even promised to notify me if they found any more information. In early 2008 Petrina's mother in Melbourne received a call looking for Danny and was told he had "missed a court date." Sounds kind of strange when he hasn't been known to be in Melbourne for over 6 years at the time. Maybe a bail bondsman - would they still be looking after that amount of time? Bill Kilborn |
